James and his attention to detail, workmanship was excellent. I was super impressed to say the least! He saved us hundreds of dollars by his technique and years of experience in repairing hardwood floors. Other guys wanted to sand 3-4 feet, re-stain, re-poly etc. This man knows what he’s doing and the science behind it. 5 stars!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We highly recommend him!
I needed wood floor repairs done in home and came across Jims page on Thumbtack. I reached out to him and he responded to me very quickly. He asked me a few questions about my project and said that would be able to to do the job within a few days. (wow... this does not happen in NC). Jim contacted me with his expected arrival time and showed up just as he said. He demeaner is very pleasant and he is very knowledgeable about flooring, doors and so much more. He set up his workbench with tools and repaired my flooring in very little time. Im a building inspector by trade and I can tell you that Jim is really good... I will always reach out to him with any projects that I might have and would recommend him highly to anyone else... Thanks again Jim for the great work!!
Mr Yates is very knowledgeable and fixed my issue for a fair price. I would definitely hire him again, he is highly recommended.

Did an excellent job. Gave us several options on how to proceed. Provided professional service and did what he said he'd do. Our new floors look great.
James was a huge help in repairing some sections of our engineered hardwood floor that had water damage prior to a move. He was punctual, professional, and did a flawless job. 10/10 would definitely recommend!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I like to go and see the project with a new customer and then discuss all possible options and develop a budget and come up with the right floor or product for the project
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a CFI certified flooring installer and an Armstrong certified installer
I am also kerdi system certified tile installer I have ardex training and dap floor levelling training
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I love working with my hands and I tried it out for a summer with my best friend's uncle and I really got into it and he always told me the more I knew the more work I would have
