We have suffered with a leaky basement for years. Thought it could not be repaired. Marcus, Adam, William, Wes, and Luis worked wonders in a professional and efficient manner. This house built in 1957 is dry for the first time ever.

My basement had been leaking for years, and I had to pump it out regularly. Recently we had a big storm, and it leaked worse than it ever had. I was standing in inches of water and finally decided I was tired of the panic-pumping during storms. I got some estimates, but Dry Otter came in with the best bang for my buck. I also like that their office is about 15 minutes away from my home, and I know I'm paying for a quality service (and not expensive billboards and TV ads.)Every single member of their team that I encountered was professional, on time, responsive, and respectful of my home. The person who came out for the initial consult was communicative and addressed all my concerns. The admin/project team contacted me when they said they would to schedule the contractors and the installation. On install day, the team showed up on time, did an incredible job, and treated my home with the utmost respect. They cleaned up after themselves and left my basement much better than they found it. Even though they were jackhammering, they went out of their way not to disrupt my day as much as possible.It rained really hard last night, and for the first time since I moved into this home 3 years ago, I didn't have to worry about waking up to a huge mess in my basement. I know I've increased the value of my home as well as my usable square footage. I'm glad I chose Dry Otter, and I've already recommended them to my neighbor who is dealing with some of the same issues.10/10, would recommend.

Recently we purchased a new home in the Mooresville, N.C. Area.Upon the inspection during the purchase process, a number of issues arose, the largest of which was ground water contamination that created mold in the crawl space.Enter Dry Otter...Marcus Smith of Dry Otter came out to the property the next day and developed multiple proposals. We chose the most comprehensive.Through Marcus, incredible communication with his office personnel, we were able to schedule the work in a timely manner.The job entailed the remediation of the mold, installing drainage, sump pump, encapsulating the entire crawl space and installing a dehumidifier.Will, John & Luis did an outstanding job not only doing the installation but doing so while supplying timely updates and education as the process continued. During the install, total professionalism was prevalent as well as a human touch in understanding our concerns.There was a site supervisor present on a consistent basis to ensure all was well and Bob, the electrician, that "Fired Up" the sump pump and dehumidifier was outstanding.On top of that, we now can monitor the humidity in our crawl space with an in-home sensor. to any homeowner that is in need of any of the services that Dry Otter provides!D.M. When Tyler came to our house and inspected it he was up front with everything he found. Once everything was set up William and his crew explained everything as they were doing the work. They had three days set aside for the project but finished in two. We have received wonderful service from everyone at the company.

In May 2023 we hired Dry Otter to encapsulate our crawl space, install a French drain, sump pump and a dehumidification system as we almost always had standing water under the house.We were very, very impressed with both the quality of work that Cory, Noah and Desmond provided but also with the customer service that was provided immediately after when we experienced an issue.The morning after they finished the work we awoke to no hot water and no air conditioning. We checked everything we knew to check on our end with no success. Then we call Dry Otter. Our thought at that point was that in doing the work under the house some wires to the other units had accidentally been pulled loose enough to cause problems but not loose enough to be noticed.They very quickly sent a team out to go back in and look. When their team couldn't find anything, they upped their game and called in an electrician. He was able to fix the issue with the hot water heater. That left the AC unit. It was still not working and it was hot outside.So, we called our HVAC guy that we have used for years. Our guy came out, found that problem quickly and fixed it. I went ahead and paid him, then called Dry Otter for reimbursement which they did very rapidly.So long story short, their customer service is great as well.Were they the cheapest of the 6 companies we got quotes from? No, they were about in the middle. But we were very impressed with them from the very beginning and were impressed all the way to the end.

We offer free crawl space and basement inspections where our inspector will provide a thorough assessment of the situation along with a free estimate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with scheduling a free crawl space or basement inspection.
Next, at the inspection appointment, the inspector will provide a free estimate.
If the homeowner wants to hire Dry Otter, the production manager will reach out to schedule the work.
The work usually lasts 1 to 4 days. There is usually no impact on the residents in the home during the work, since the work is under the house. If we perform mold remediation in the crawl space, we take precautions to protect the people in the home.
We offer warranties and recommend an annual maintenance of the system and we offer that service.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
There are no permits or certifications needed for crawl space or basement waterproofing.
But we are a member of the National Association of Remodeling Industry and the Basement Health Association.
