Introduction: TEACHING - Traditional music education practices can stifle interest and/or creativity, or basically keep some folks, especially children from staying interested, developing, and eventually reaching their full learning potential. True teaching involves encouraging creativity in every way possible, recognizing how a particular student likes to learn or evolve and then making the learning process more natural, and less like a chore. I have a specific way of teaching the guitar that is a very different approach than the drudgery of standard lessons. It's the process of "sneaking it in on them", meaning to say, the student ends up learning & developing skills, and they don't even realize it because they're having so much fun, or they are so into the overall musicality of something that they hardly notice the skill being learned. Human bodies are different and human beings learn differently and this realization is key in developing true fundamental musical skills on any instrument. This along with understanding the role of emotion in music, I believe makes me a different kind of talent and a different kind of teacher. PERFORMING LIVE - I've always enjoyed having a full band sound even when playing/performing by myself outside of a group situation. That in itself made me the multi-instrumentalist that I am today due to the fact that it forces you to learn and grow on other instruments and gives you a great respect for the other instrument players when you are in a group situation. You are also forced to become better with arrangements and the technical/electronic side of the music industry. Doing it this way also gives you more control of the overall volume and sound that folks in the audience are hearing. Simply, I just pre-record instruments behind me and play and sing live on top of that. It's hard work, but very rewarding in the end when you see audience members light up, totally surprised by what they are hearing. I love it! I just wish I had more time to put towards preparing more backing tracks to songs that I love. Some performers use midi files for just that reason, but I guess that I'm old fashioned. TEACHING - I enjoy showing people how to really play music, on multiple instruments. I'm not going to fill up your head with hours of needless information. Want to be really good, then stick to the basics and develop the skills that are already there born in you. Your natural ear and rhythm are all you need just as long as you truly have a desire to develop and learn your trade. A little natural skill and the determination and desire to accomplish whatever it is you want to do in music! For everything else "over and beyond technical" there's youtube and possibly classical music school. Thanks for reading. PERFORMING LIVE - I just love sharing the gift and really wowing people out live with what you've accomplished musically. It's a great feeling when you feel the audience begin to sync up to what you are doing on the stage. There's a powerful energy released during those moments, though I've never really been able to explain it.

Ron worked hard on editing a song for a father-daughter dance for a wedding. It was a challenging song and he kept at it until it was perfect. Outstanding!
