Introduction: Homestead Farm has been in business since 1998. I have been teaching for over 26 years. My background is in dressage and jumping. I have shown through Prix St. George and evented through Preliminary.
Offering lessons from ages 5 to adult. My lessons are based on an all around horse experience. True horsemanship involves the fundamentals of "horse communication". Safety is a priority when working with horses. Understanding how they think and act is a life long lesson. Lessons involve handling, grooming, tacking and basic care. The mounted parts of lessons are based on rider's experience level. Basics of position and rider's aid are the beginning. Advanced lessons are taught with a dressage background. Jumping lessons will have a dressage based flatwork continued to over fences.
Lesson horses are available. I have availability for small groups if available. Private lessons are offered either as 30 min. Or hour. Year round as weather allows.
I enjoy helping students with the knowledge and love of horses. I enjoy teaching the true art of riding through feel as a communication as opposed to a quick gimmick to improve and hit the show ring. I do show and take students to shows. I would rather the focus on shows being improvement over just go for the ribbon.
