FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Before going into business for myself I spent 4 years in an apprenticeship. I also spent 2 years working at a custom cabinet shop. I learned a lot of valuable skills to include: - Painting prep (a huge one as this is 75%-80% of what we do) - A proven step by step process for refinishing woodwork and cabinets to achieve the sleekest/most long lasting results - Application of industrial coatings - Running a well organized crew of painters - Cleanliness - Care for the customer throughout the job
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I learned the trade of painting 5 years ago, and I caught on very early to how painting affects people's moods. I want to urge people to be proactive about their circumstances, and I truly love giving them the support they need to create a balanced living environment. I believe that the work I do promotes peaceful living in people's homes and results in a community full of vibrance and creativity. Seeing the end result, leaving a smile on people's faces and maintaining a standard of neatness and professionalism is what keeps me going and drives me onward.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Whoever you’re looking a hiring, don’t be afraid to ask questions. Leave it open-ended and ask them about their process in doing the job. If the provider is enthusiastic and knowledgeable and can give great details as to how they go about their work it shows that they care about what they do. Don’t leave the care of your home up to chance. Pick someone who shows evidence of character and experience. If you stick to that, you’ll be happy with who you pick.
