Having started with Jim as my trainer to working under him, I fully trust his training methods for any working dog and handler. Jim's experience comes from years of working with a variety of dog breeds for diverse purposes. In addition, he is well aware of the different techniques in the community and is always able to find the best and most practical solution. His lessons are invaluable because he is not only successful in shaping the behavior of the dog, but handlers will learn much from the experience.

Jim did a great job with a very difficult Rescue dog. Sampson is much more manageable now and is acclimating to life as a house dog with boundaries! I was very happy with Sampson’s progress and Jim’s assessment throughout the training.

I made an extensive search finally, NCK9 LL. was referred by an acquaintance. A conversation with Jim O' Brien convinced me he could improve the obedience of my dog. Initially, it was a broad train arrangement, followed by one on with me and my young German Shepherd. Prowler's obedience is remarkable and my handling has greatly improved. I have worked with other dog trainers with other dogs, Jim demonstrated knowledge, thoroughness in training my pet and me. He has a passion for training dogs and ensure owners are completely satisfied. I am a happy owner of a happy dog. It is now enjoyable to walk Prowler in crowded public places. Should I ever need a refresher or train another dog, Jim and NCK9 LLC. is the one to use.

Pricing will vary on length of training, issues that need resolving, and type of training that is needed.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first meeting is an evaluation of the dog with the owner. The trainer will get an understanding from the owner what the goals of the training are. A plan will then be created and explained to the owner.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 15 years handling and training police canines for law enforcement agencies all over the world. I have trained hundreds of pet dogs and created great relationships between once unruly pets and their owners.
