FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I've worked in the Veterinary field for over 8 years and became interested in pet sitting when I recognized that boarding is not for every animal. Some animals are actually more stressed when boarding and so I received referrals to pet sit from a Veterinarian I worked for (usually for clients who didn't board well). There is a real need for this service because not only is it more convenient for pet owners but it allows pets to stay in their comfort zones while their owners are away.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Pet sitting and basic animal care for clients who have to go away on business or vacation. Will also take animals to doctor's visits, assist owners with long term therapies for senior pets, dog walking, and house sitting.1
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
My advice is to look for someone that has a lot of experience with animals and preferably with a little medical background. Also, seek someone who genuinely cares about the clients they provide services to and that they are reliable.
