Introduction: Having a small personal business allows me to build relationships with the people that I work for. This ensures that my work is satisfactory and that each of my customers are happy with the work that I do. With my main profession being in education, most of lawn care work takes place in the evening and on the weekends. I made the decision once my first child was born to step away from lawn care to put family first. Now that my children are older, I have decided to pick up the business again. My goal with lawn care and landscaping is to teach my children what hard work looks like and that working with your hands can be just as successful and rewarding as pursuing a college degree.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
I started fixing lawn mowers in high school and have slowly built my way into a successful business. Each year I expand it (well God does) a little more so that I can still offer great rates to my customers without hurting the business.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The most common type of job that I do is lawn care. Lawn cutting, trimming, and blowing of the walkways and driveways is the standard package. Outside of that I do basic landscaping and take care of flower beds, natural areas, etc.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be cautious about who you hire to do your work. The first thing that people see when coming to your house is your yard. A mediocre yard crew will do mediocre work. Size of a company does not mean that they care about the yards they do!
