Hello and welcome to my page! My name's Vanessa and I'm the urban flower farmer florist behind Pepperwood Flower Farm. Having had a passion for gardening for 20 years I decided during the Covid lockdown to turn my love of growing and flowers into my career. The last 3 years have been amazing and I have done flowers for valentines, weddings, birthdays, Mothers day and events such as Anniversaries as well as floral subscriptions. I grow a range of flowers from Dahlias to roses and wholesale whatever I don't have on the farm for my clients. I love people and flowers and get great joy out of getting to know my clients and providing customized beautiful arrangements for them. I take pride in providing the very best quality flowers that I grow and that the market has to offer.

Vanessa was a dream to work with and she was able to really have our flowers look AMAZING on the day of our wedding! We will definitely use her services again in the future!
Vanessa was a dream. I had no idea what to design, and Vanessa asked all the right questions. She ended up designing arrangements that were a tribute to our family, not only asking about colors but were there flowers that had meaning. My mother cried when she saw the cymbidiums, father used to grow them after he retired. Within 5 minutes of starting the party I was asked several times if the arrangements could be taken home after the party. 😝. Excellent job. Vanessa was caring, prepared, punctual and talented! Look no further if you need a florist.

Vanessa’s flowers and kindred spirit brought me so much JOY on my wedding day! She has such an attentive ear and was flexible to work with while still being timely and detailed. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a base price that I can discuss with prospective clients that is a starting point and gives a rough idea of pricing which is ultimately tailored to the clients individual project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Setting up an initial phone call to discuss the clients event and vision and mood they are hoping to create. In this first meeting I try to get to know my client, their taste and a little bit about their personality so I can shape the design and proposal especially for them. I go over the nuts and bolts of what their wedding requires such as number of arrangements, any special installment, wedding party details if it's a wedding. From here I take around 3-5 days to email and estimate for the job and a inspiration board.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am self taught and understand post harvest flower handling and floral practices to keep the flowers as fresh as possible. I am in the process of completing a more formal certification. Starting a Floret course in January.
