FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I teach by the academic year (two semesters) and a flexible summer session. Tuition is paid monthly for an entire semester and includes some lesson materials.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Normally, I talk with a new customer on the phone to find out what their desires and goals for taking lessons are. Then I schedule a meet and greet and we spend the time to get to know each other, make sure there is a good teacher/student fit (one of the most important things about taking private lessons!), and discover what your goals are and what repertoire and teaching methods would best suit you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a former university professor (my chemistry-professor husband recently retired from NCSU) and have a Bachelor of Music in performance, Master of Music in sacred music and performance, and Doctor of Musical Arts in choral conducting and performance. I've been teaching for over 40 years.
