Introduction: The foundation of the Joy is the Voice of Love Center is about creating joyful and healthy relationships. There have been two ancient traditions, since the late 80s, that have been the main influence for me in my life. The first is the Chinese Tao and the law of relativity through being an authorized Jin Shin Do Bodymind Acupressure teacher and certified acupressurist since 1988. The second is having had the opportunity to live and study with master teachers both in Hawaii and on the mainland to learn about a tradition that is all about family (Ohana) and caring for each other and about maintaining the harmony of the family through peaceful techniques that are also simple and practical. It is what the Hawaiians call the "Living the Aloha Spirit" or "The Way of the Heart. Aloha is the basis of all of life in Hawaii, from ancient times to the present. It is that wonderful feeling you have when you are joyfully experiencing life, when you are feeling connected with your family and friends and are feeling that sense of confidence, happiness, peace, love and harmony! I also feel blessed to be able to share all of this now with others here on the mainland and especially in the western mountains of North Carolina. In having the opportunity to go back and reconnect with this ancient knowledge and way of living, we have a wonderful opportunity to learn how to go forward by looking deep within to our spiritual understanding and empowerment of ourselves. It is a precious resource in our modern world that is punctuated with so much stress, chaos and uncertainty by helping us to remember through love that we are all one people, one family, regardless of the country, culture or background that we originate from. It helps us to maintain harmonious relations with our spirit/body/mind, the sacred land and the human family to co-create the world and the life we want. The Joy is the Voice of Love Center offers being in the Hawaiian flow and the way of the heart though group settings, as in workshops and classes, and in private mentoring sessions in person, by phone and on Skype. Workshops are often combined with a musical storytelling and messages from the heart concert as an introduction to the workshop.
