FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'll preface by saying this straight forward: we're in the business to make a living. As passionate as I am about my projects, that is the bottom line at the end of the day. That being said, i abhor other contractors that attempt to gouge homeowners. My margins are less than other contractors simply because I believe it to be a better quality way to conduct business, but to also get more business. I don't have to worry about trying to make crazy amounts of money on one job because I know there's another one right after it. Two slightly smaller slices of pie is better than no pie at all.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with the Initial Consultation which, depending on the project, can take anywhere from 30mins to a couple of hours. This is not only to see the project, but to also make sure our personalities work well together, too. Nobody is going to do business with someone they don't like! Then, we get to Planning and maybe a couple of quotes. Once a direction is agreed upon, the client will look over the Scope of Work and see if it requires any modifications and this is where they ask all of their questions. Then we agree upon terms and start the show!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been construction design/sales/installation for over a decade. Having been an apprentice to 2 different general contractors and one Master Carpenter from Greenwich, CT has not only given me the know-how to build your project, but also the insight to make your project original. I strive to make every project have at least one small aspect of YOU in it. That is to say that you changed a generic project just slightly so that it's something you love and not just live with.
