- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I begin with a 2 hr. consultation at $250.00 in which I ask a lot of questions about the space(s). I measure & note what the rooms potential will be. After that, I charge $150.00 per hr. for shopping, sketching, working with contractors, site visits & more. I invoice monthly to keep current with expenses.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
For the past 22 years I have been an Allied Member ASID of the NY Metro Chapter. I sit on the CEU committee & plan educational programs for our members & that keeps me up to date on everything new.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
In 1972 I graduated from FIT with a degree in Textile Design. After enjoying many years doing fabric designs painting by hand, the computer became the way to "paint". Not for me... I began creating murals & hand painted furniture for clients especially children's rooms. Charm & Whimsy was born in 1983 out of a need for fun, multifunctional, colorful rooms.
