Cyndi's talents are quite simply amazing and she is a wonderful person to have worked with. I could not have asked for a more professional, more personable and highly artistic person to perform face-painting for our families and their children. She made our company's celebration an evening to remember - and people still continue to comment on how amazing she was as a face-painter...and at her rates, you simply cannot beat it. You won't find anyone better - she is just the best.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I handle everything by email. This allows us to have a written description of the event details and important details from the client. once Cyndi's Faces and the client meet we exchange information about the event. We put together an invoice detailing services and cost. Once agreeable to the client they type their name on the bottom line and email the invoice back to me. This represents a contract. Before the date we try to follow up to inquire about any possible changes. On the date of the event we arrive up to 30 minutes prior schedule allowing. We bring everything we will need including seating, table, water and supplies. It is at this time the client can pay us if they have not already done so. Then we paint or twist for our clients.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a working artist. During the week I am frequently creating art for clients on just about anything. you can view some of our work on our website or I can email images to you. Other than that I attend professional classes occasionally.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Face Painting is 50.00 per hour per performer Balloon Twisting is 50.00 per hour Travel fees apply, I use Google maps. Put Bunn, NC in the start location and the address of the event in the destination location. If the drive time is less than 30 minutes there is no travel fee. If the drive time is over 30 minutes and less than 60 minutes the travel fee will be 30.00. If the travel time is over 60 minutes but less than 120 minutes there is a 60.00 travel fee. If the drive time is over 120 minutes but under 180 minutes there is a 90.00 travel fee, and so on.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I wanted to be the cool Mom.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We do Face Painting for just about any event. If you are having an event and would like to offer something new or different face painting has become very popular and can turn your event from good to great! We have performed at parties as small as a few children to events as large as 3000 people. Some of the companies we have worked for Corporate Chic Fil A, Deutche Bank, BB&T, Amberly Residence Club, Hill Ridge Farms, Deep South Entertainment, references are available.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
Recently I finished an upgrade to fun signs at Hill Ridge Farms. You can view them at cyndi.mcknight on facebook. These colorful signs were created with airbrush and bright colors.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Ask questions! Never be shy to ask questions, and feel free to ask for references. As an artist I am immersed in the industry and take a lot for granted. I use high quality face paint by reputable manufacturers like Mehron and Snazaroo and Wolfe. But you don't know that, but you should know what they will be using on your skin. Also ask how many faces can be painted an hour. Remember more is not always better. I can paint about 12 - 15 faces an hour that is 4 minutes a child! If it is only cheek art 20 faces! Cost and Fees. Ask your painter to be what any extra fees there might be. I charge a travel fee because I am so cheep! So I am ... $50.00 per hour per performer for face painting $50.00 per hour for Balloon Twisting $30.00 per hour of driving from Bunn, NC after 30 minutes.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
What products do you use? Is there a cancellation policy? What should I do if there are more guests coming? How do we stay in contact? Can the performer handle small children or sensory sensitive guests? Do you have paints that would be good for My event for example water resistant for a pool party or easy and gentle on the skin for a little child party?
