The Grateful Dawg NC provides dog training services around the triangle area. Our mission is to ensure that we will meet the demands and preferences of our customers by offering a variety of results-based services and programs in our dog training business. We work together to help connect people and their dogs. By helping to establish clear communication between the two species, we assist you in strengthening the loving bond between you and your canine companions. TGD works with the dogs that the other training companies don't want to and/or aren't comfortable working with some breeds. We specialize in reactivity & aggressive behavior modification. i have had THE BEST training experience with shana and will. they are a great team. they are very knowledgable, patient, understanding, helpful and they really care about my dogs. they are also concerned with my success. they are very easy to work with and they address the issues that i have w/out any fluff or unnecessary training. i am dealing with a reactive dog issue which i have a ton of anxiety about. shana and will have given me the best advice and tools to address the situation in a way that i feel confident and comfortable with. i can't express enough how thankful i am to have them helping me and my dogs. with their guidance i know that i can successfully achieve my training goals.

Shana and Will have helped me gain confidence in training my problem dog. This isn't our first time using a trainer, but with Grateful Dawg, we are actually facing my dog's fears and learning how to control his behavior when he is in an uncomfortable situation rather than totally avoiding his triggers. We have been so impressed with our results, and we are only on our third session!

We have two big Alpha male dogs who need to live together for the time being. Shana and Will gave us several suggestions to help them redirect their behavior to avoid confrontations. We still need help but they are always willing and able to answer our questions. I'm very pleased with my experience and look forward to future sessions.

Shana and Will were great! They worked with my Standard Poodle(stubborn) and me(anxious) to help us both be successful as a pair. They were fun, patient,and persistent in helping us learn to have Henry(stubborn Poodle) walk with me without pulling on the leash, interact appropriately with other dogs, sit, down, watch and stay. We worked through 2 series of training to get this far. Many people who live near me have commented on what a nice and well-mannered dog he has become. I always say that we had great Grateful Dawg trainers. I believe that Henry has the qualities to be a successful Therapy dog. I am looking forward to their next group session when they will work with us to get Henry ready for the certification as a good citizen. That is a special assurance that Henry CONSISTENTLY does the required behaviors. Having a dog that people seek out and want to be with because of their charm is a process. Shana and Will just spent an hour and a half with our dog Franklin and the results were instantaneous! We called them because of his antisocial behavior with other dogs and difficulty on the leash, and by the end of the session he was interacting playfully with their dogs and walking without pulling. We were so pleased with them and have already scheduled more sessions for Franklin! They are very knowledgeable and are great to work with!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
TGD has a starting rate of $125 for general obedience and minor behavioral issues. For higher level reactivity & aggression a single session is $175. Discounts are given on package deals. TGD believes in continual training and enjoys giving discounts to those that show 100% commitment.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start off by setting up a phone consultation to better understand your and your dog's training needs. From there, we schedule our first session. At the end of the first session we give you the option to upgrade to a package. We want to make sure you are 100% comfortable and satisfied with your training purchase.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The Grateful Dawg NC is owned and operated by Will Sepich. Will's experience began by working with rescues and animal shelters in rehabilitating aggressive dogs. He has been mentored by a number of other trainers and has since developed, refined and adapted his own training style. Specializing in reactive/aggressive behavior modification. We have a wide range of experience and a large base of knowledge to impart on our students. We can tackle a wide range of problem behaviors through basic obedience and/or behavior modification Training. We consider ourselves harmonious trainers; using positive training ideals and motivational corrections, we help you establish clear communication between you and your canine companion.
