FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet with a client with a site visit to go over what they are thinking. I will then come up with an estimate and if it the potential client would like to move forward we can either go to contract or I may schedule a follow up visit with our sub contractors to refine the bid. Once we are at the contract stage, we will sit down to discuss any open options such as cabinet selection, flooring options, paint colors, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I passed the NASCLA contractors exam which allows me to be the qualifier for TKL to be be a licensed NC General Contractor (license #80653). I am personally a NC licensed Insurance Adjuster which gives me additional knowledge in helping homeowners with an insurance loss. And I am also a Certified Lead Renovator for working on homes prior to 1978 that may have lead issues.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I began in Florida working for a rather large emergency response company focused on fire/water and smoke mitigation. It was through that business that I became convinced that communication is key and learned much about the construction industry. Over the years I became very experienced in the business to the point that running my own company became kind of natural. I co-owned a construction company for a number of years before passing the NASCLA contractors exam so I could license my own construction company and TKL was started.
