I cater to each student in their abilities and type of songs they like. I want my students to enjoy lessons by having theory games, play their favorite songs sometimes,etc. , not to be too serious. I am a caring but have structure in my teaching.
My young students can sight reading music and play so many songs .I am very good for young children. I had experience teaching from 5 and 1/2 year old to 86 . I love to see everyone's progress and perform well in recitals ! I involve in the board of 2 teachers associations in Cary and Durham. I am a church musician.
I teaching mostly at my studio in Morrisville, very near Brier Creek, Raleigh.

There is $10.00 fee for travel to client with in 7 miles distance (to client whose has same gender).

We’ve had a wonderful experience with Ms. Ruth as my child’s piano teacher. She truly gives each student personal attention and genuinely wants them to excel. For kids who need a little extra push or encouragement, she’s absolutely perfect; patient, motivating, and caring. Her approach in teaching is fun and easy going yet she always makes sure students meet their goals.
The recitals she organizes are a highlight! They’re not only fun but also a great opportunity for kids to perform in front of an audience and build confidence. My child has become so much more comfortable on stage and excited about music thanks to her guidance. Also, she chooses songs that resonate to the kids like movie songs etc.
Above all, she truly cares about her student's growth. I couldn’t recommend her more highly to any parent looking for a piano teacher who combines skill, dedication, and heart.

Ruth is exactly what we were looking for in a piano instructor for our son. She really listened to what is important to us, makes it fun for him to learn, and he is having a blast learning! She is such a nice person, too! Very happy with our decision to hire Ruth!

Thanks Ruth for being such a wonderful piano teacher! My son takes lessons every week and never wants to skip the learning time with her. As the parents, the happiest thing is watching the kid moving forward because he has made a lot of progress since he started taking lessons with Ruth one year ago. Ruth is very nice, patient, detailed, and has very good methods combined with various materials and recitals for kids. After each lesson, kid always brings home a notebook with very detailed and helpful notes about his learning and practicing. My son not just improved his playing skill, but also learned a lot about reading, theories, performance skills... He never felt the least bit frustrated because Ruth always made learning the piano feel so natural and fun! Just as she mentioned HAPPY PIANO! We really appreciate Ruth’s hard work!

My daughter is incredibly shy and finally got the confidence to take lessons with Ruth this past year. She had been teaching herself on a keyboard for about 2 years but was too nervous to take lessons and have the "pressure" of someone watching her play. We just completed 1 year of lessons with Ruth and I am amazed at the growth in my daughter's skills but also her confidence in herself. She played her first recital (via zoom because COVID-19) in December and the fact that she performed on screen for family and strangers was an accomplishment itself. But her piano skills blew me away. To see that Ruth could teach her SO much with just one lesson a week in 12 months is incredible. I'm incredibly proud of my daughter and very thankful we found Ruth. And to top it off, Ruth is very affordable :)
