Ian is great! He’s professional, responsive and punctual. Most importantly, he is an excellent teacher who engages my son in a fun way that allows him to grow and learn in violin while also enjoying his lessons.

Ian was recommended to me by my local luthier when I moved to the area, and I have not been disappointed since! He’s been teaching me for almost three years, and I feel like I’ve learned a lot for personal enrichment and for my church orchestra. He challenges you in all the right ways, and his rates and accommodations for travel and schedule changes are top notch! And he’s great for adult learners getting back in the game and wanting to sharpen their lost skills. Would recommend for students of all ages!

Mr. Ian Livingston has truly helped me grow as a musician. His instruction during lessons has helped me significantly improve as a musician, and he is extremely respectful. I never worry about being underprepared for a lesson because regardless of how prepared I am he brings a positive attitude and is always willing to work with me. I would absolutely recommend Mr. Livingston to any violinist in the area—from intermediate to advanced.

My daughter has been taking violin lessons with Ian for almost 2 year now, and we couldn't be happier. He is an absolutely wonderful teacher, especially with young kids. He is patient, encouraging, and has a great sense of humor that makes learning fun. My daughter always looks forward to her lessons and has made incredible progress under his guidance. He not only teaches her to play the violin but also instills a love for music. We highly recommend Ian to any parent looking for a kind and talented violin teacher.

Mr Ian is extremely professional, creative and patient. He is teaching our three (almost 4) year old and uses a number of ways to both communicate and provide feedback to the learner. Mr Ian makes every class interesting and engaging. If you are interested in having your child learn and appreciate music through the violin - Mr Ian is the teacher for you, especially for younger learners as they benefit from having the one-on-one interaction and attention. We would highly recommend him.
