To start with the positives: when the crew was actively working, the quality of the painting itself was generally good, and they initially stayed on schedule. Alex did try to accommodate our requests and changes throughout the project. However, many details and agreements had to be repeated multiple times because things were frequently forgotten or overlooked.
The biggest issue - and the reason for this review - is that the company terminated the contract unilaterally before even half of the agreed work was completed. We were left with a partially unfinished home, including missing baseboards and incomplete work throughout the house, with no reasonable transition plan or support. This caused major delays to our move-in timeline and created significant additional stress and expense for us. We were essentially informed that they would not continue the project and left to figure everything out ourselves.
Part of the baseboard work that was completed was also done incorrectly. Alex told us that the worker responsible for the mistake had been fired, but aside from returning part of the payment for that portion of the work, we received no compensation for the damage caused to the walls and surrounding areas. We are now in the position of having to hire additional contractors ourselves to repair and correct the issues.
Another frustrating part of the experience was the refund process. Alex agreed to return part of the money for unfinished work, but I repeatedly had to follow up and remind him many times in order to actually receive payments back. It felt extremely uncomfortable having to constantly chase after money that had already been agreed upon, especially considering that we always paid invoices on time and never made them chase us for payment.
It also became clear that Alex was unhappy that we asked detailed questions about the work, pricing, materials, paint layers, and execution process. Based on our experience, this company may be a fit for homeowners who prefer a very hands-off approach and do not want to be deeply involved in the details of how the work is being done, why certain decisions are made, or how materials are applied. If your priority is simply having work completed by a target date without asking many questions or having specific expectations, you may be satisfied.
However, if communication, transparency, accountability, and reliability throughout the full duration of a contract are important to you, I would strongly recommend proceeding carefully. In our case, we were left with an unfinished project and had to urgently find alternative contractors after the agreement was abruptly ended.
