FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer honest, transparent pricing with no hidden fees — you'll know the cost upfront before work begins. I use a combination of flat-rate and hourly pricing depending on the project: well-defined jobs (like installing a faucet, fan, or mounting a TV) are typically flat rate, so you know the cost upfront with no surprises. Larger or more variable jobs, like furniture assembly or multi-item task lists, are billed hourly. I provide free estimates, and pricing reflects the quality and care that comes with 20+ years of hands-on experience.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I start by understanding exactly what you need (a quick call or message to discuss the project), followed by an on-site visit or photos for an accurate estimate. From there, I confirm scope, pricing, and timeline before any work begins. I keep communication clear throughout the job and make sure you're satisfied with the final result before considering the job complete.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My training has always come from doing the work, not from a classroom. After four years in the Air Force, I started a construction company with a friend, rebuilding homes and building a portfolio of rental properties. The company held a contractor's license, and I ran operations and led licensed subcontractor crews, sometimes five or more on a single project. I've personally led multiple full home rebuilds since then, including a fully permitted rebuild of my own primary residence here in Raleigh. As the homeowner, North Carolina law allowed me to perform the electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural work myself, including wall removal, LVL beams, and truss work, and I've done structural and foundation work on a home I owned in DC as well. I've worked with permitting and inspection departments across North Carolina, Wisconsin, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and California, always following the process and doing things by the book. I've also managed facilities for several organizations, which included overseeing new building construction, in some cases multi million dollar projects for schools and nonprofits. Today I still personally manage the maintenance on my own rental properties, and for Rosas Home Services, I focus on general handyman work, coordinating with licensed professionals for anything outside that scope. That range, from hands on trade work to leading multi-million dollar construction projects, is the foundation I bring to Rosas Home Services.
