FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I do "Flat Rate Pricing"....A customer tells me what they need, and I tell them what I will charge. The job might take me 20 minutes. The job might get complicated once I get on site and take three or four hours, but the Flat Rate Price does not change. I make most of my income on referrals and repeat business.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Sometimes, a customer knows exactly what they want. Sometimes, they're not quite sure what their needs are. My process is to ask questions, listen to the answers, and then offer suggestions as to what solutions will best fit their needs and budget.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The telecom-data field continues to change. I have 30+ years, and continue to adapt. I have run copper cables in baseball stadiums, apartment complexes under construction, mansions and mobile homes. I started out with "Ma Bell", back when there was still a Ma Bell. Land-lines, pay phones, DSL, Business and residential. "Connecting" equipment is easy. Getting a cable from point A to point B can be tricky, but my experience in that aspect is very wide ranging.
