FAQs
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
While there are many disparities amongst photographers in our market today, the value of those services are often overlooked. Sure photography can and should be an investment. Pictures are timeless and the value of those images truly don't reveal themselves until decades to come. It's worth the investment initially{especially when it comes to wedding photography} to get it done right the first time. You only have that one day to do it right. Make sure you're hiring a pro that you connect with, that maintains healthy business practices, attends regular workshops, is a member of the PPA, & has insurance.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
I studied photography extensively at RIT and continue to further my education on a regular basis. But it's really quite funny how I got into wedding photography. I swore I would never do weddings. I always hated the liability factor of how sacred a wedding day is and how important it is the line of work of wedding photography is. It truly freaked me out! My hair stylist asked me 5 times(because I kept telling her 'NO'!) to shoot her wedding. I finally caved(although entirely skeptical about the decision I had made).......the barter was on for 10 haircuts and colors for wedding day photography!! That got my foot wet, but fear of messing up prevented me from going after weddings. Two random brides approached me about shooting their weddings, and I had to reconsider how I felt about weddings. God truly had plans for me. He always guides you where you need to be. I truly believe that God led me to wedding photography.....and with good cause! It's my passion and what I feel as though I was put on this earth to do!
