I have been tutoring for the SAT and ACT for over 20 years. So, I'm very familiar with the skills, verbal and math, required to excel on these tests. Previously, I was certified to teach high school math. I tailor my work for each student to fit their skill level, from those who struggle with standardized tests, to those aiming for perfect scores. My students like working with me and they improve. For study materials, I only use real tests from the test makers. In addition to my local students, I work with students throughout the United States using Zoom and have found that method to work quite well. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee is $150 for one-hour meetings. Most of my students take advantage of my 10-hour package for $1300.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I have an initial complimentary consultation, usually with parent and student. We discuss how I work with students, how the student might decide between the SAT and ACT, when the student might take the test and schedule tutoring accordingly, and any other question the parent or student may have. For the tutoring, I meet with students Tuesdays through Saturdays, either at my office or via Zoom.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in electrical engineering and participated in honors programs for math, sciences, and English.
