I’ve been a pro trumpeter and a performing artist since growing up in my hometown of New Orleans and have performed with bands covering nearly every music genre and type of event. Also, as a retired businessman, I’m a stickler for being responsive and working with customers to deliver the unique, professional, and enjoyable experience they desire.
I recently formed a Smooth Jazz group with other pro musicians. We are a small freelance group utilizing high-quality backing tracts to help manage cost and deliver the sound of a full band. In addition, my 20 years of performing with Latin bands inspired me to include a variety of Latin Jazz songs in our repertoire. I'm also performing as solo trumpeter with Brunswick County's Community Big Jazz Band, a 7-piece Rock & Soul group, and a Dixieland Band.

I pulled Maxie in on my project and he knocked out what I wanted in one take. I had him to more takes just in case, but each pass made the decision on what to keep harder and harder. I've also had the honor of playing live with him. When he's there, his part is the last thing to worry about! He's a great instrumentalist, and VERY easy to work with. A great addition to any live set or studio recording.

Maxie is the BEST! We have used him multiple times, with other musicians and without. He is professional and his sound is amazing! We love him at Brunswick Senior Resources and he is the first person we always check with when we would like live music. Maxie Washington is a true musician.

Wow! Maxie is an old scholl New Orleans horn player that so much fun to hear. He has a great selection of backing tracks for his solo work (and also has live combos available.) His performance gave my client appreciation meeting a very sophisticated ambience and everyone was impressed.

I have known Mr. Washington for more than 20 years. I have performed with him in many musical modalities. Ne is an excellent musician that can improvise well in a jazz setting and can comport himself well in an orchestra or swing band.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Please call for a quote as pricing may vary depending on type of engagement, hours played, travel, etc. I'm always happy to work with customers to find a solution that meets their budget. A small upfront deposit may be required with full payment due immediately after a performance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process is pretty straight-forward. I ask questions to get to know customers and details of the event they're planning. Next step is to contact the musicians for availability and coordinate schedules. After this is achieved (usually within 24 hours), I follow-up with the customer with for further details and present a proposal. Once hired, I stay in touch with customers to address any changes that might arise prior to the event.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Decades of live performances, including recordings for Rock and Gospel artists; studied music theory in college; trained at a Nashville Song Writers Association clinic; received extensive sales, marketing and customer service training during my long banking career.
