FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every piece of land is unique, so there isn't a set fee like at a store. Your property may have been surveyed recently or not for 75 years. It may be open with no brush or completely covered in briars. Other factors include elevation changes, the number of corners and length of the boundary that we must retrace. There are extras that also add to the fee if you would like a Map of the survey and if you want the lines between the corners staked or flagged.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, we reply with an inquiry to find out the address or tax parcel number, contact information and desired schedule. If you include your address in the request, it will often save a step. The other important item to have nailed down is whether or not you need a map. All surveyors in NC must provide either a Certified Survey Report or Certified Map of their work.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attended Purdue University in Geomatics and have taken additional courses at CPCC. After licensure, NC professional land surveyors must take 15 hours of Continuing Education every year.
