Dana has the knowledge, the ability to teach and resources. All of which have combined to help me take my mare further in 8 months then I had gotten with her in the 9 previous years. I was ready to sell her and had even sent her to another trainer for a tune-up in order to do so. I was told by that trainer that she has a neurologic issues and that it may be best to give her to a rescue. My appaloosa still has a head tick, but by working with Dana we have discovered ways to decrees her stress level and this has greatly reduced the behavior. Without Dana Iâm afraid to think what things would be like for my mare and I now. Most likely she would have become a pasture ornament, but instead we are looking forward to meeting our next goals: going out on trial and being in a schooling show.May 13, 2015
Foothills Equestrian Center Has turned out to be one of the best life changes I have ever made. Arriving at a new barn can be challenging but Dana and the whole Foothills family welcomed us with open arms. Dana's help and instruction has allowed my teenage daughter to thrive through her riding and has helped me discover a renewed love of riding and learning about our equine partners. Danas expertise is invaluable to me as we overcome every challenge I hit with wonderful new to me Centered Riding techniques. Lesson times are flexible and suit my busy schedule perfectly. Danas horses are safe and well trained which met my goals of safety first and fun second completely. I highly recommend Dana Dewey and Foothills Equestrian Center!Mar 26, 2015
My experience working with Dana Dewey has been the most helpful equine related experience of my life. She has provided so many opportunities that have helped me become so much more aware of myself, what I am doing to help or hinder my horse. The reactions of my horse as I practice what I have learned are wonderful. She is much more happy and responsive and balanced. When I first went to Dana I was not balanced on my horse, I had lots of tension and was in pain as I rode. Now, I had ridden a long time and thought I was a pretty good rider. Dana has helped me to ride, for the most part, rather comfortably and effortlessly. What ever my challenge, she guided me to a solution.... among others would be, choosing the best bit, getting my saddle balanced, and many lessons incorporating centered riding techniques. Dana brings in outside professionals with extra instruction with things such as Centered Riding, body awareness and movement, etc. I am now a certified Centered Riding instructor, certified to volunteer as part of a search and rescue team and what fun I am having! Dana is "full service" and always has put forth her best effort to help all her students to learn and get what they need. What more could a person ask for??Mar 25, 2015
