FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I had worked for many years with computers for The Reader's Digest. However, I felt like I wanted to make a career change. So, I began teaching SAT Math for The Princeton Review on weekends and found that I loved teaching. It's no surprise - my mom and dad had been teachers as well!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
I have tutored many students at many grade levels - grades 4 through 11. I've also prepared students in math for the SAT and ACT tests. Part of what I do, is to clearly model homework questions until the student FULLY understands the material. I also help students with projects like Problem Sets. And, of course, I help students fully prepare for upcoming quizzes and tests.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
It's very important to find a tutor who is a good fit for the student. You can be an excellent tutor - but if you don't inspire or motivate your student - than it's still not a good idea to hire that tutor.
