Matt came by to do a fairly small job for us a couple of weeks ago. From first point of contact, he made me feel like he knew exactly what I was trying to convey and how he could fix it. He found time in his schedule to come out and do a smaller job. We had been having problems with an external outlet controlled by an inside light switch. Upon evaluating my wiring and making sure everything else seemed like it was in acceptable condition, Matt proposed an even better solution than what we originally had. Matt installed a new GFCI outlet on the outside of our house and connected it to the switch so that it was working exactly the way it was before we started having problems. Matt also installed a waterproof cover on the outlet and was able to answer a few other questions I had about other switches we have in the house.
I'm confident that when Matt took the cover off the interior outlet that was connected to the GFCI, he marveled at the mess that was in there. Matt never made me feel like this was something he couldn't handle. He was methodical in his approach to tracing wires and figuring out what line went to what receptacle.
Matt is super knowledgeable, personable and friendly. Most importantly, he can get the job done correctly. I'll be adding Matt to the list of providers that we're happy to have do work in our home.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Our standard service call charge is $150 which covers our initial diagnostic visit and up to an hour of labor. Additional time and materials are charged as the job permits.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Our owner, Matt, has electrical expertise dating back to 2017 and holds an Electrical License for the state of North Carolina. Shockey Electric is licensed and insured.
