My husband and I have worked with several contractors and construction crews. Charlie is by far the best hire we’ve ever had! Charlie and his crew added a porch covering to our DIY deck. He made sure the new roof merged with the existing bay window overhang. His workmanship is second to none. He is on site every day, working with his crew, making sure that everything is done to his high standard. He often said that if he wouldn’t want that done in his house, he wasn’t going to be OK with it on mine. He actually cares about the quality of the job. When hiccups arrived after he completed the work - none of which were his fault - he helped us sort through the issue and directed us with the resources we needed to solve it. Even better, he doesn’t overcharge for materials and labor. I highly recommend hiring A Hammer And Nail Construction for your next project. You won’t be disappointed!

Charles helped me with updating my 2 bathrooms. I live in North Raleigh and my wife and I have been interested in getting this done for some time now. Originally we were just going to keep it very simple (update hardware, new mirrors, etc.) but when we spoke with Charles and he presented an option that was still within our budget and included so much more, we were excited to move ahead. Not only did we end up with 2 bathrooms that we don't even recognize -in a good way- Charles also had it done in a timely manner and had everything cleaned up and all extra material ready for return before he left on the last day. You could tell Charles really knows what he is doing and is more concerned with customers being satisfied and coming back to him in the future instead of a quick fleecing like many construction companies tend to do. Our fees are based on time to complete the project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After the initial contact via email, I schedule an appointment to meet and discuss the work requested to get an idea of what the customer wants to do.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Mostly in the field training. As I mentioned previously, I have been working in construction since I was 15.
