As a decorative painter, since 1990, I paint a wide variety of faux finishes on walls, ceilings, floors, furniture, and accessories; trompe l'oeil; faux French marquetry; floor cloths; portraiture of people, pets, equestrian; nursery walls and other murals, debutante wooden stool paintings, invitation designs and calligraphy, wedding invitation addressing, logos, signage, etc. Often, clients take me throughout their residences (or offices, retail spaces, businesses, yachts, etc.), ask me to give them design and color advice, and want me to continue into the interior designer skill set. I decided to take my bachelor's degree in art and go into interior design because I was asked to do it so often. I would like to show you how I can make your spaces more enjoyable through new colors, furnishings, rugs, art, accessories, and collections. I am proficient on the computer -- PC and Mac platforms; familiar with several software programs including MicrosSoft Office; Adobe Creative Suites, specifically InDesign; Publisher; ACS Technologies (church software); Wilson Community College coursework: personal computer building/repairs; PhotoShop, AutoCAD; medical terminology/medical transcription (typing 65 wpm); webpage design/Dreamweaver; BB&T sponsored bank teller course; Nurse Aid I; American sign language; Nash Community coursework: architectural drawing/drafting; Barton College: BS in Art and Art Education; and nursing (microbiology and nutrition). I have excellent grammar and spelling, verbal and written communication skills, telephone skills, filing, processing mail, keeping calendars, planning travel, and other office tasks. I have two years experience as assistant director of festivals and special events for the Wilson County Chamber of Commerce planning, marketing, and executing entertainment, keynote speaker, mall ball, beauty pageant, street festival, BBQ cook-offs, and children's areas. Wilson's annual fall festival is called the Whirligig Festival.
