Introduction: Hi there! Thanks for visiting my page. I've been teaching music for over 10 years. Teaching and playing music are my passions and what I know I am meant to do in life. In an effort to better serve those who are interested in learning the guitar, I have brought on another fantastic teacher. I look forward to helping you reach your musical goals! What sets me apart as a teacher is my approach to teaching and my vast experience gained over the past 10 years, working at the collegiate level and regularly working with people of all musical ages and levels of experience. My past and current students can attest to my ability to relate information in a relevant, understandable, and practical way. Oftentimes, students are not given an explanation as to why they are learning something, and why it’s important. As my students better understand the “why” of music, they appreciate and understand the applicability of the material, and consequently can bring their own musical abilities to greater heights. As a teacher, I understand that there are multiple learning styles, and therefore strive to meet each of my students where they learn best.

I have been taking acoustic guitar lessons from Dan since February. There is so much to say about this guy that I would need more space to write. He is 100% patient with teaching the guitar no matter if it's about theory or teaching a riff . Im 36 and even though I used to play th3 trumpet , its my First time learning the guitar and I always ask him ... how are you so patient? He really cares for his students and it shows. I absolutely look forward to having lesson with him each week . When our hour is done, I always feel as if our lesson just started. The zoom meetings are always clear and he is precise with whatever he is teaching. There is never any lagging on our calls which helps with learning the lesson for that day. Dan records every week and sends them via email so you are able to watch and practice again . I 1000% recommend Dan!

Details: 26 - 44 years old • No formal training • No, cannot read music • Acoustic • What the teacher recommends • Yes, the student has an instrument • 60 minutes • Remotely (phone or internet)

I had my lesson with Dan and it was awesome. I chose to work with Dan because he is very passionate. He genuinely wants to help and teach people. His communication with me was consistent and very clear. I have wanted to take guitar lessons for a long time now and when I found Dan’s video, I knew he would be a great fit for me! I was sad to hear he was not local to me, however, after my first zoom lesson, I was completely satisfied. He was able to communicate to me everything I needed to know like he was in the room. Im very glad I found him and can’t wait to keep learning from him!

Details: 18 - 25 years old • No formal training • No, cannot read music • Acoustic • What the teacher recommends • Yes, the student has an instrument • 30 minutes • My home, venue, etc. • Remotely (phone or internet)

Dan is a a solid dude. My first lesson i didn’t even touch the guitar on some Karate kid type training lol. He just explained the ins and outs of my amp and introduced elements of music theory to help me help out with navigating the fretboard.

Dan went into great detail and provided recorded zoom meetings and lesson material for me to review and learn at my own pace. I enjoyed Dan’s teaching style; he made learning fun for me while challenging and improving my guitar skills. A great mentor for anyone indeed.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I schedule students out by the month, so when you sign up with me you've got a guaranteed appointment every week on the same day and time for that month! For your protection and mine I do ask for the month's payment on the first lesson of each month. If you need to cancel, or reschedule for any reason I ask that you give me at least 24 hours notice. Lessons that are missed without notice, or cancelled last minute (barring any unforsee emergency) will be counted as a lesson and debited from the pre-paid monthly rate. My rates are $35 for a half hour, 50$ for 45 minutes, and $60 for a whole for either online, or in person lessons at my home studio. I do travel to do lessons at students homes. The price for a lesson at your home is $75 for an hour.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First we will have a free phone, or in person consultation to see if we will be a good match for one another. From there we can determine a day a day, time, and medium for our lessons!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Ocean's Edge University 2009, 2011 Certificate Visible Music College 2021 Bachelors in Modern Music Excellence Award Recipient for the Guitar Department at Visible Music College
