Ray does not do well with large jobs. We hired him to paint the interior of our home which is just under 3k square foot. 1. Ray basically begged us to hire him for the job, so we decided to give a small business a chance. 2. He told us that he would arrive around 7:30am every morning but due to our kid’s school schedules, we agreed on 8:30am and he was late every morning arriving between 9am - 12noon. 3. He didn’t use the type of paint that we requested and told us that he was unable to get it. 4. He didn’t use painter’s tape, so most of his lines were not straight and when I asked about it, he said that he’s the professional and I’m not and if someone shows up with painter’s tape then I should send them home. He also told me that the customer is not always right after I pointed out the flaws after he had been painting our house for a week. 5. Even though he had a cloth, there is flickers of white paint on my hard wood floors, my eggshell walks and my mirrors that I’m still trying to get rid of. He was not a very neat worker, very messy and even got white paint on the bottom step of our risers. 6. I noticed that he had a different attitude when my husband was around meaning that he seems to respect him more. When I tried explaining to him that the work was not being done correctly, he gave me a bad attitude. 7. A job that he told us would take 5-6 days ended up taking over 2 weeks that we had to coach him through. 8. He didn’t move the headboard in our guest room and tried painting around it as if we wouldn’t notice. 9. He told me that he’s the professional and I’m not but told me that he spoke to some guys and they told him that he had to put a couple coats in order for the paint to look good. I’m not the “professional” but I thought that was common knowledge. 10. We had some more work here but choose not to hire him due to his poor attitude, messy work and overall inability to arrive on time.
