What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
$1 per minute plus $5 per session. Services requiring special training or tools, such as myofacial release, deep tissue or hot/cold stones, typically add $15 per session. Sessions with specialty products and facials, such as extreme instant facelift sets, are priced according. I work by appointment only and my introductory rate of $65.00 per hour includes a detailed intake process. I feel that this an affordable opportunity so that you can personally experience the therapeutic effects of warm stones on your body and mind, and then decide for yourself if you wish to become a monthly client with a recurring $45 per hour rate.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
There is an intake form to be completed, and we talk about your expectations for pain relief, any muscular issues you have concerns about, and post-massage recommendations.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, and I have a licensed establishment in LaVista. Nebraska law requires 1000 hours of education and a passing score on a comprehensive standardized board exam to obtain a license; see ncbtmb dot org for more information. State Renewals require a certain number of Continuing Education hours, and about half are considered "hands on", meaning we can't just do some reading and take an online certification test. We are educated, ethical professionals who care about you, your health, and your well-being.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I was able to stay at home with my kids after my second child was born. When he was ready to go to school, I was ready to go back to working outside the home, but needed to consider something where I could control my availability and schedule. Being self employed and responsible for building my clientele appealed to me, and I chose massage therapy with the added bonus of offering a time of peace and quiet to others.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My client based consists of stressed out professionals, yoga instructors, stay at home moms, grandparents and even a Boston Marathon runner. Mostly though, people who value their health and understand the importance of stress relief.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I have recently become a Certified Transform30 Coach and am living a whole food, near organic, plant-based lifestyle. I am thrilled to get 50 fruits and vegetables into my family every day with JuicePlus+ and to share that same opportunity with you. Together, we inspire healthy living around the world. I love to try new recipes, and it has been a delight to help my family eat healthy and stay healthy. Now I get to help others on this journey. What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Look for someone obviously in their second career because you'll realize that they ~chose~ to do it because they love it, and when you love what you do, you're happy and excited to go to work every day.
