I have a 20 year record of outstanding evaluations and feedback from supervisors, parents, and students. I was a finalist for 2008 Teacher of the Year in NH. I think my biggest strength is that I combine an in depth subject knowledge and passion with an outstanding rapport with students. This is a point repeatedly noted by peers and supervisor evaluations. Every morning I am excited about going to work. Students often ask me why I am usually so happy and I tell them that the answer is a simple one - I love talking about and teaching writing and reading and I love sharing my passion with young people.

How did you get started doing this type of work?
As far back as I can remember, I've wanted to be an English teacher. My mother was an English teacher.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Do some research. A tutor should be able to provide you with references and be eager for you to check his/her background and reputation. In most cases, there is a HUGE difference between a veteran teacher and one recently graduated from college. Be honest about expectations from the very beginning.
