Introduction: As a musician, I believe that music is an influential channel for personal growth and the ideals that a student can gain from formal instruction are critical to the success of all their musical endeavors. With a forward looking approach to teaching, I have arrived at a curriculum that is clearly modern in its content, making it extremely relevant to the music of our times. I also understand that it is important to mold my curriculum to meet the needs of each individual student. Through a course of directed study that integrates elements of music literacy and performance, my curriculum provides the skills necessary for any student to become self-reliant, experienced, motivated, and most significantly, successful. While I specialize in guitar lessons specifically, lessons are also available for banjo (both claw hammer and Scruggs style), mandolin, and ukulele. As well as tutoring for college auditions, music theory, transcription, and ear training.
Having been a private music educator for almost 20 years now I can honestly say that being able to help someone learn how to understand music and their instrument makes me feel very fulfilled. I am so passionate about music and my own pursuits it never feels like a job when connecting with my students.
