These guys were great! There were no delays in arranging their work. I hired them to put together and install a pre-fab gazebo that, according to online reviews, had a gazillion steps and took others up to two-days to complete. On the scheduled day they showed up, on time, ready to go with all the supplies they’d need. As they worked, they cleaned up after themselves. They were professional, responsible, skillful, thorough, and friendly. They finished the job in 9 hours. Quality work!! Would hire them again without reservation. …and likely will!

Ralph and crew are fantastic to work with! If you're lucky enough to book their services you're in for a treat.
-First off, Ralph is communicative. Email, text or phone calls, he will respond...and quickly. He's adaptable, when we encountered unexpected pitfalls (and we did frequently) during our remodel he was able to accommodate.
-They're clean, they always protected our floors with paper and were extremely careful when moving equipment. Every week, he mopped the place before leaving for the weekend.
-The sub-contractors he works with are top notch too. Also clean, detail oriented, punctual and communicative. We also saw what happens when one of his subs doesn't meet his standards, they're asked to not come back.
-If you're unsure about how something should be done, you can trust his judgement. He's obviously been doing this for a long time and it shows.
Quality work, reasonable price (estimate was basically spot on) and he's there when he says he'll be there. Sometimes he's even there when he wasn't supposed to be just to make sure the job stayed on track. Well done "A Step-Above"...HIGHLY recommend these guys.

Ralph built a small deck for the side of my house, and also mounted two storm doors for me. The deck is very sturdy---it was built to last for years---and looks great too. He did a terrific job framing the doors. My house looks so much better now. Ralph was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He readily answered any questions or concerns I had. He showed up when he was supposed to. I would highly recommend A Step-Above Contracting.

This is completely false. You booked our services for 7/10. We had to cancel that appointment and refund you. You were refunded the very next day, 7/11. If I could upload the receipt here, I certainly would. We never met, we never performed any work for you. We had an emergency and had to cancel your appointment. That's unfortunate, but life happens.
You decided to come here, leave a bogus one star review -again, performed no work for you, never even met you-and make a fraudulent claim that we kept your money. All that does is attempt to hurt a small business for selfish reasons. You should be ashamed of yourself for doing that. I think most people reading this, juxtaposed with all the other AWESOME reviews we have, will know who the real villain is here. If you had any shred of decency, you'd remove this review.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We have an hourly rate and we also give fixed pricing for projects.
Our rates are designed to meet our needs as a business, however, we approach every project with a mindset of "how can we most efficiently complete this project without compromising any quality?" This is how you, the client, get a real value!
Remember: Skilled labor isn't cheap and cheap labor isn't skilled!
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will promptly review your request and get back to you as soon as possible. Small jobs can be quoted via email with a brief, detailed description of what you need to be done, and a few pictures. Larger, more complex projects begin with a meet in person, on site to go over all of the aspects of your remodel.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are constantly learning all of the latest building techniques, attending hands-on seminars and keeping up with the latest materials available
