I contacted her for a beak, wing and nail clipping for a bird I recently acquired through Craigslist. Was not sure how Daphne would react but Joanne came into the room and started talking to her Daphne immediately started bouncing up and down and stepped right up onto her. She was professional and took time to answer all my questions. Absolutely love that she comes to you, less stress on the bird. Definitely will be using her again. Thank you!!!!!

We were fortunate to have met Joanne more than 10 years ago when our Cockatiel, Charlie, joined our family. Joanne taught us important things that we did not learn in any book that we read. Joanne clips Charlie's wings and nails for us. She goes above and beyond to accommodate our schedule, but truth be told, we so enjoy visiting her in her home and meeting new members of her family that we always want to bring Charlie there. We have never met anyone with such compassion for birds (and dogs and goats!) Once when Charlie got hurt, Joanne was our lifeline. She listened patiently to me, calmed me with her words, and instructed me on exactly what to do. Charlie recovered and I believe to this day that had we tried to transport him to the vet, he would not be with us today. We are only one family of dozens and dozens that Joanne helps, and yet she never fails to return our call or text almost immediately because her first thought is always the health and welfare of Charlie. Joanne is an amazing, caring person, who possesses volumes of knowledge from personal experiences, and that's what counts for us. Cleaning out the empty shells from Charlie's food on a daily basis so there is no mistaking whether he has an adequate amount food, washing his water dish thoroughly so there is no slime build-up, misting him regularly so that he is able to groom himself, how to make sure the water is warm for him - these important steps have helped keep Charlie healthy and happy. I have never seen that information in any book I read. Truly, we do not know what we would do without her. This is a great opportunity for us to say, thank you, Joanne!

each n every time I read such a letter as yours , it reminds me that all my speeches , all my tips , and concern's are worth saying over and over . that some do care . to see the way you n your husband love and care for Charlie renews my faith in people . thank you both for making me smile as you leave my house after charlies clipping, Charlie is easy to say good by to. I am not haunted by the too small a cage, or no toys ,or comments like no he never gets out of cage -the kids have lost interest ?? those stay with me for days as I picture the bird who has been forgotten !! my motto now is saving one bird wont change the world - but surely the world will change for that one bird ! sincerely, joanne

Wings On The Fly is truly fantastic. I have a 10-year-old rescue Lesser Cockatoo who was virtually wild when Joanne began working with him. Its taken a massive amount of patients, compassion and understanding as well as her ability to see what an amazing bird he would be if given a chance. She is caring and highly knowledgeable when it comes to animals; dogs, goats, rabbits, birds.. you name it, they all seem to sense the type of person she is. If you need a home pet check, a behavioral assessment and/or behavioral counseling, nail trimming (bunny/bird/dog etc), wing trimming, boarding, etc. Joanne with Wings On The Fly is the person to contact. Her rates are very reasonable, property spacious well maintained and laid out, boarding rooms clean & stocked with toys, the bunny play house/lodge pen area is great and the out door aviaries are a birds paradise!! Thank you and I look forward to having you take care of my pets in the future.

Joanne came to my home in Milford and met my flock, 15 birds. She gave me medical and behavioral assessments of all the birds. She clipped nails beaks and wings. My birds took to her instantly as if they've known her for years. She handled all of them with great care. She even gave me a few tips of things I could do to enrich their lives just a little more. She is a great contact...I'm very happy I found her.

GO TO THE HOME , MEET THE FAMILY AND THE PET , CHECK OUT THE LIVING SITUATION FOR THE PET ,GIVE SUGGESTIONS IF NEEDED .LISTEN TO QUESTIONS AND CONCERNS ANYONE MAY HAVE RE CARE,FOOD , OUT OF CAGE TIME ETC... TEND TO THE PETS AND OFF I GO ! BUT NEVER TOO FAR FOR A QUESTION OR CONCERN , CUSTOMERS HAVE MY HOME PHONE , CELL PHONE , EMAIL ADDRESS , HOME ADDRESS , I AM HERE FOR THEM ANY TIME THEY NEED ME .
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i have just completed a course at vins in vermont on birds,wild birds and rehabbing. I am pijac certified and consider each day a lesson as i deal with new birds with new issues. I dont think i will ever get to the point where i know enough

STARTING VOLUNTEERING AT ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE IN BOSTON WHEN I WAS 13 YRS OLD , I ALREADY HAD A GREAT LOVE AND DESIRE TO BE AROUND ANIMALS AND IT HAS NEVER CHANGED .
