Introduction: Children and adults: I believe you can realize your dream of playing piano through Simply Music Piano lessons! I teach online, or in my studio in Meredith, New Hampshire. With Simply Music Piano, students of all ages play great-sounding songs in different styles-classical, contemporary, blues, jazz and accompaniments- immediately, from their very first lessons. I've been teaching Simply Music Piano for 6 years. My students of all ages love it, and so do I, because it makes learning piano fun; and students learn to play songs they really enjoy right away. I have a Master's Degree in Music and taught music for many years in Massachusetts public schools; in my years of teaching I've never encountered a better way of learning music than Simply Music Piano. For a discount, I offer group lessons; a great opportunity to gain a new group of friends, for both adults and children!

Nancy is a wonderful music teacher that truly cares for her students to achieve success and truly enjoy piano. She is very patient and really helps our daughter understand her lessons and want to play piano. My daughter has been doing remote Zoom lessons for over a year with Nancy and she has been very successful at learning

Nancy is an inspiring teacher! As an older beginning adult learner I thought she was very good at offering me the right amount of discipline and fun things to do to improve my skills, and the Simply Music teaching method she uses was a perfect way to get proficient at playing a few pieces right away and then to learn how to improve on your own in your preferred style of music (folk, jazz, classical, standard pop)

Nancy taught both our kids for five years, one from the age of 6 and one from the age of 8. It was amazing watching their musicality emerge under her patient and enthusiastic tutelage. They acquired many skills on the piano, but even more important, she helped instill in them a love of music that has carried through piano and the other instruments they play.

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge a monthly fee for once-a-week lessons. There may be 3, 4, or 5 lessons in a month. Online lessons last 35 minutes, in person 30 minutes; group lessons are longer, depending on the number of students in the group. Private online lessons are $100/month, group lessons are $80/month. In person lessons are $90/month for private lessons, and $75/month for group lessons.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I offer a free introductory session for all prospective students. At this session, I'll explain the unique advantages of the Simply Music Piano method and how it differs from traditional, reading based methods. I'll also tell about how this method began, demonstrate some of the songs students will be learning, and give an example of how the method works. If the student decides to go ahead and try lessons, we will schedule a weekly 30 or 35 minute lesson time.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a BA in music education, and an MA in music, and I am a registered Simply Music piano teacher. I have taught piano for the past 6 years; I have played piano most of my life, and as a public school music teacher, I played piano for many concerts, plays and assemblies over the course of my career. I also play piano as a church musician. I taught elementary general music and chorus in the Massachusetts public schools for 18 years.
