Walter from W. Santos Construction Services, LLC really helped us out of a difficult spot. We had hired another contractor to complete a renovation project on our deck. After almost 5 months of frustration, delays, and poor workmanship, we fired that contractor and it was Walter to the rescue. He was able to come in and correct the poor workmanship of the previous contractor and complete the rest of the project. Walter was courteous, detail oriented, and professional. He also effectively communicated each step along the way. While the overall cost of the project came in slightly higher than anticipated, that was understandable given that Walter had to correct some of the previous contractor’s shoddy workmanship that wasn’t initially apparent. We would definitely use Walter again for other projects and would gladly refer him to anyone we know looking into a renovation project.

I wish I had better news to report about my experience with Walter. We made plans for him to come and estimate a project...he said he'd call first. That day came and . . . no call, no visit. He was a no-show. After trying to reach him by text message, he called me the next day with no apology just saying that "we're playing phone tag". There was no phone tag. Wanting to just keep things moving, I made a plan with him for the same deal the following Monday. He was going to call, then come look at the job. Second time...no call, no-show.
For some reason this has happened a lot with contractors I've tried to hire here on Thumbtack. I'm an independent contractor myself. If I'm advertising that I want business, I certainly don't blow off potential customers/clients. Moving on to the next one.

I got behind with the rain and had to finish the job I was in and couldn't stop to call. The weather put me in a bad situation and I never meant to upset you. I was just tied up with a strict deadline. I do apologize for not remembering to call you.
It wasn't my intention to upset you. I do respect and try to give my best to all my customers, unfortunately I am the person that has my hands on the job full time and I try to do my best for each and everyone of my customers. Walter did excellent work and worked so hard to make our project exactly what we wanted. He was easy to work with and was through. Easy to communicate with via phone and text messages as well as daily check ins during the project. We highly recommend Walter and look forward to working on additional projects with him in the future.
