Hoyt Masonry was fantastic to work with. We hired them to rebuild our crumbling front steps for which the original builder had taken some shortcuts which had caused the base to shift and crack along with all of the treads.
Hoyt Masonry removed all of the old limestone treads and replaced them with durable granite ones. They also replaced all of the cracked bricks in the base and fixed the internal issues which had caused the steps to crack in the first place.
In addition they removed all of the railings and had them modified and repainted. One of the reasons we decided to go with Hoyt was that they are one of the only masons that we had found who could handle the ironwork in addition to the masonry.
All in all, we are very happy with the result. The quality of the work is top-notch and the owner, Sean, has great to work with. He is extremely responsive and professional to deal with and I think we'll be calling on him again next spring when we redo our walkway.

We contacted Sean for what we thought would be an easy/quick fix on replacing some old brick front porch steps. Once he began working on removing them, it was clear that the steps had not been constructed well originally (no concrete/block foundation, but just gravel and dirt under the porch landing). Sean gave us options, and we decided to go with a combination of granite and brick. Sean created a beautiful pattern that's reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright, and now I think our front porch landing is the favorite part of our house. Beautiful work, and excellent communication (weather didn't cooperate so well!), and the result? Stunning. We'd definitely contact him in the future.

So surprised Sean responded so quickly to my Thumbtack request and was able to repair my back step the NEXT DAY! He arrived this morning and the job is now complete. I'm contracting with him to replace my bulkhead. Great work ethics!
Sean did a great job dealing my foundation including replacing damaged brick and re-skim-coating as needed. He is very professional, personable and priced reasonably. No qualms about recommending him highly

Sean quickly scheduled a visit for quote after I messaged him through Thumbtack. He followed up by emailing insurance and financials, offering several dates for me to choose for the project to start. The project was to rebuild and tie-in the corner of a retaining wall that had been struck by a truck. The work was done only during good temperatures on dry days, so the concrete could set strong. Sean and his son used safe and effective methods to take care of the work, and were conscientious of neighbors, cleanup, etc. The end result was a strong wall that is visually attractive and done in a way that leaves me confident that it will last. I will be using Sean again in the future.
