I know what it is to struggle with your weight, and I found the answer and clean eating and daily exercise. I love meeting people from all walks of life. Their experiences, struggles and talents richly enhance the experience of one-on-one personal training. Also, seeing them reach their goals is an amazing feeling, knowing that you've played a big part in that.

In June of 2013, I contracted Bacterial Spinal Meningitis which has left me permanently disabled. I am muscle and nerve damaged on my left side and my balance is severely impaired. I present very much like a stroke victim. It has been a long road to recovery. Thanks to the excellent care I received at Bacharach Institute of Rehabilitation, the love and support of my husband, family and friends and the encouragement and support of Karen Cooper, my personal trainer, I have been able to achieve a new “normal” with which I can live. After three months of inpatient care and rehabilitation, I received 12 weeks of outpatient physical rehabilitation. I progressed from sitting in a wheel chair to walking with a walker. Finally I could walk with a stability cane. My therapists felt they had taken me as far as they could and I was discharged, but physically I was still very weak. Then Karen Cooper came into my life. Karen was recommended to be my trainer. She specializes in working with clients with special needs and those that are post rehabilitation. It could not have been a more appropriate recommendation. Karen developed a safe and effective routine for me. When we first started, I sat in a chair and worked with weights, did resistance training with bands, and walked a couple of laps around the room. A year and a half later, my routine involves weight machines and free standing exercises. Distance walking is no longer an issue. My posture, my strength and my stamina are greatly improved. My effective workout program and my personal relationship with Karen keep me committed. My new normal keeps getting better thanks to Karen Cooper.

Your strength, integrity, perseverance and laughter has served as an inspiration to me since we first met. I have watched you progress steadily, and never stop! Trainers encounter some clients that truly change their lives. Your "triumph over adversity" is truly a touchstone for me. I look at life differently, because of clients like you. I had really bad knee issues and she was so understanding and able to relate!!! Always willing to work with you on schedules!! Was the sweetest person!! So very helpful on every level!! And still checks in to see how we are doing! I would totally recommend her to anyone!! 😊

Paying attention to strict form and biomechanics are essential in not only avoiding injury, but mastering the workout! It was a pleasure training you!

Karen is extremely knowledgeable about her craft, anatomy & physiology. She was able to create a program that provided the results I needed even with my knee, shoulder & cervical limitations. Her positive attitude and belief in my ability to succeed has been a blessing.
