If you hit it right, find a pleasant solution, that is both appreciated by client & innovative or original, that differentiates client from competitors, you find your purpose, your niche. Like sexiness: it is not something superficial. Outside looks are shallow. If your solution to client who comes to you to solve a problem, is appreciated on all levels, on surface, intrinsically, emotionally, spiritually, financially, then you've got a hit, loyalty, trust. You can't ask for more. That is success. Back it up with genuine customer service. Clients know when you lie or cheat or hide. There's too many crooks out there. Be straight, transparent, objective.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    To find the best service provider of any kind that is best for your individual needs, you have to ask yourself & provider these questions: 1. What do you need, what is my end goal? 2. What is my budget, that i can not exceed as small business? 3. What are all the skills required to solve my problem, does provider have experience in all or falsely promising or extending their skill set just to get job? 4. Is provider patient, listening to your needs, or in a hurry to get job? 5. What support is provider capable of, if you have problems or require reasonable changes? 6. Are there any hidden fees? 7. Can provider meet deadlines? 8. Any testimonials available? 9. Logic: if provider is web site designer, check their own website, it's the 1st clue to their skill set and must excel vs other sites. If provider is coder, ask for real life examples of sites or apps they did. Etc. Ask for samples of their work. A simple list of clients or even links does not guarantee that they did it, it's easy to list. But whatever they list, if it looks like a bad example, it shows their lack of respect to you, as they don't take it seriously. Each time they excuse a bad example with that is what the previous client paid for, be alarmed. It is the designer's or coder's job to do better than what the client expects, give more, raise the standard. Otherwise, it's laziness. I've been on both sides, as client & provider. This is an insider's tip. 10. There's many tips but mostly ask your questions, rid your doubts, compare prices, it's your right. Providers who don't answer openly, objectively, freely, have something to hide.
