I had some issues with my Dell laptop after installing Windows 10. My laptop came with windows 7 and I installed windows 10 last July when it was free. The computer was fine for an entire year, then all of a sudden it would not shut down u less I pressed the button and I was having issues connecting to the internet. Not knowing how to fix it myself I called Staples and they said to bring it right in and they would check it out “NO CHARGE “ Guess that wasn’t really a smart move. But they said they’d run a free diagnostic test. Which they did. I KNEW they would find something because NOTHING IS FREE OF CHARGE. Of course the gentleman who helped me found 2900 viruses 🦠. REALLY? He also said I needed a PC Tune up and about 4-5 other things. By the time he was done and totaled everything up it came close to $300. I said forget that!!! For another $400 I can just get a new laptop. He said that was definitely an option and he would be more than happy to help me pick one out. Yeah, of course he was. Commission would have been good I bet. So I brought the laptop back home and it seemed to be back to normal. It was shutting down properly and was working until I installed the newest updates for windows 10. Then it went nuts. I got the BSOD!! (Blue Screen Of Death 💀) so for the hell of it I went online to search for a Mom & Pop computer repair shop. I would much rather support small business than huge corporations because the small business may be a bit more expensive due to the fact they have to compete with huge corporate companies, but the difference I find is if you are loyal to a small business they take care of you. Also if the give you back your item and you still have an issue they will have you bring it back in and they will fix it it 9X out of 10 it’s not related to the original fix and they won’t charge extra. So I called a few people and I was just not getting any good vibes. Either their tone was like ughh I have to work now, or they sounded like my phone call was bothering them. Then I found Tyler’s page and I swear he was the absolute LAST call I was going to make. If he was like the others I called, then I was getting in my car and off to Best Buy to just get another one. Well this kid was AWESOME. He sounded like he was happy to hear from me. I told him what was going on and what Staples told me etc. at that point I really thought he would start bashing Staples for trying to rip me off solely because they are his competition. Surprisingly he did nothing of the sort. He was so professional and you don’t find too many young people like that anymore. He asked if I could bring the laptop in and I experience him I am in the severe stage of COPD and wasn’t really breathing well and I would call him when I felt better. His response floored me. He said he would come to my home and check the computer and give me an estimate free of charge. I gave him my address and he was here within 20 minutes. He figured out exactly what the problem was. It was Windows 10 and my computer is too old to catch the app updates. So he spent approximately 3 hours here and just removed Windows 10 and reinstalled Windows 7. I did not realize what a process that was. Also gave me GREAT ADVICE about how to speed it up too. This computer is running as fast as it did when I bought it in 2012. I NEVER disclose exactly how much I was charged but I will tell you it was ridiculously under the $300 Staples wanted to do over a weeks time. Tyler got the job done in about 3 hours. He went far and beyond what he had to do and he didn’t even charge me for all the extras. I WILL BE CALLING HIM AGAIN for all my computer repairs and needs. A+++ company and I Highly recommend him !!! I’m extremely happy with his professionalism,his willingness to come to me because of my illness and his abilities to diagnose the problem and repair it immediately. You would never get that in Staples. They wanted to keep my laptop for a minimum of 5 days. I can’t say enough good things about you Tyler. Thank you for everything. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We generally ask for the customers contact info so we can properly contact and update them regarding a service they are interested in or are receiving. We are also currently implementing a new Client-Portal where customers may log in to view the progress of their devices repair all in real time! No more pulling your hair out, wondering when your device is going to be ready. Once your repair has been completed you will receive an automated text message and email informing you your device is ready for pickup!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied Network Engineering and Cyber Security at PC Age Career Institute located in Edison, NJ from 2014-2015. I have completed my A+, Network+, Windows Server, and Windows 7 certificates from CompTIA. I have over 10 Years of professional experience in General Repairs for a variety of devices including iPhones, Androids, Laptops, Desktops, Xbox and PlayStation Devices as well.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I was 13 years old my first laptop ever had pooped out on me. As someone who could not afford to replace it or repair it I decided to take it upon myself to try and fix it. Needless to say it did not work out so well..... From that moment forward I spent thousands and thousands of hours learning how to build/repair/teardown electronics. If there was a video tutorial out there. I had already seen it. Tinkering and Toying around for fun turned into a full blown passion. After Completing College in 2015 I started Multifrag Enterprises a Web/Server Hosting Company based in Colonia, NJ. In 2017, I created IT Done Right after experiencing the worst possible types of manipulation in the IT Industry. Especially on the elderly. In 2023, We branched off into the Professional Services Sector providing small and medium sized businesses with Managed Services. With over 10 Years of IT Service Experience we aim to provide the highest quality service for an affordable cost.
