Introduction

Conga, djembe & hand drum lessons for ages 5 and up. The lessons are age and skill appropriate & available for individual & groups. Students learn authentic African, Afro-Cuban & Middle Eastern rhythms; the best & most efficient hand-drum playing techniques, basic & advanced rhythms, rhythm parts for group play, rhythmic exercises, basic & advance improvisational techniques & more. Students are guaranteed to 1. develop their rhythmic vocabulary; 2. improve their rhythmic & musical skills; and 3. have a lot of fun playing drums & percussion! I work with beginner, intermediate & advanced hand-drummers. For beginner drummers the most common job I do is to teach them sound fundamentals and basic rhythms for conga, djembe or other hand drums. The most common job I do for intermediate & advanced level players is to refine their rhythmic skills and develop their rhythmic vocabulary.
