- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee is considered on simple hourly basis, and ranges from $100 - $150/hr depending on travel distance, tolls incurred and such. 1/2 of the total fee is requested upon approval of my participation in the event.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, of course, we speak over the phone and discuss the specifics of the event: time: date, time, location, how many attendees (adults or children), and of course, what the special occasion is! In the case of a family event, if the family is within five miles or so, I'm always happy to set up convenient opportunity to meet in person, and in fact do couple of caricatures right then and there (they are quick, after all!) First, we get to know each other face to face,and second, they won't have to take time out from the actual event to sit for me!A win-win! In fact I can say with certainty that every party has been better when I've had the opportunity to get to know the families in advance; to go this extra mile. Or five miles, for that matter!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a professional artist and illustrator for over thirty years, with a particular specialization in caricature and portraiture. I'v just always considered people's faces to be there most special thing on Earth!
