About
My fluency in both languages and native accent allow me to practice conversational skills with out my own accent creating a disruption in the student's understanding nor modeling of inaccurate pronunciation. Having grown up between France and the United States I miss the use of my languages. Having my work be based around language and my ability to flow from one to the other makes me happy and keeps me connected to myself.

My daughter is an 8th grader in French II. Most of her school French is focused on reading and writing, and not enough conversation, so we sought Janine out for conversational fluency lessons. My daughter enjoys speaking with Janine and likes Janine's positive attitude and energy - we have a weekly 30 minute session via Skype (phone if we have to), to keep language learning fun and relevant and real. We didn't want our daughter to feel like it is more work/homework, so Janine manages to keep the conversation fun and relevant.

FAQs

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

My love for french and english have guided me into interpreting and conversational practice. It is when I can share my fluency and demonstrate with out any accent that I can help people, and that motivates me.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

Understanding a language is easier than having to produce the words on your own. Thus practice in speaking situations are fundamental to fluency. Also immersion is an optimum set up for acquisition but is not as easily done (re-location) a regular conversation practice is important for fluency and confidence.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

When I call home I am calling France and speaking with my family. My formal education was in the United States. This split between countries and cultures contains a knowledge base that students can draw from broader than the mechanics of language. My greatest accomplishment has been raising my children bilingual in a one language environment. Creating a sense of immersion in French while living in the United States, is the kind of dedication I have for my work.
