Where do I begin? I contacted Julie sometime last year after finding her on Thumbtack, and after realizing that she was quite a distance from me, I decided to go with someone more local. Julie was very courteous and informative the entire time. After my first trial with the more local artist, I felt underwhelmed with how I looked, stressed, and pressed for time. I decided to take the trip to see Julie to see if she could do something with my hopeless hair and awful complexion. First of all, Julie and Robin's studio is the cutest thing on the east coast. Second of all, not only did they make me look gorgeous and give me GREAT tips on hair and makeup, but I had such a great experience with them. They have this energetic, bubbly vibe about them that makes you feel like a star. They love what they do and they REALLY want to make you look AMAZING. As a COVID bride, it was so nice to have experienced a hair and makeup trial with them. No problems, very accommodating, and so much fun. My fiance tagged along and he could not stop looking at me ;) If you are looking for your hair and makeup girl for your wedding, don't look any further. These are your girls! Expect nothing but amazing things! Robyn took care of the glam for me, my three bridesmaids, and my mother. All of us were blown away. Our look was natural with a pop, and she nailed it. She was on-point in her execution, accommodating when changes came up, and efficient with her time (which is so important during the craze of the wedding day). Not to mention my make-up was literally locked in place from ceremony to after-party. Thank you, Robyn!!!

I was one of those brides that was planning to DIY their own hair and makeup. I never wear makeup or do my hair on a daily basis so my thought process was, 'why should I spend so much for it on my wedding day?' I had a lot of fears of not looking like myself and looking back on the pictures and thinking I looked ridiculous. But in the end I figured I am spending so much on a photographer and you only get married once so why not take this opportunity to get fancy.

As other reviewers have said, Julie and Robin are so sweet, my trial felt like I was just chatting with friends. I was in good hands with Robin who understood my makeup concerns and went with a more natural look so that I would still look like myself. I also appreciated that they gave me a little bit of the lipstick color on the wedding day so that I could reapply later in the day if it wiped off at all. My makeup did last all day (10am-10pm) but the lipstick did wear off after dinner so it was nice to have a little extra.

Julie did an amazing job on my hair, I showed her one picture I found online of a braid along one side of the head that turned into a kind of messy bun in the back and she executed it perfectly. I brought some stylized pearl bobby pins, too and she placed those in for me also. I got so many compliments from everyone all day saying how great I looked which was so great. My husband was blown away, the look on his face was absolutely priceless.
