Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: We are an "old school" traditional karate dojo. Serious enough to make teaching our art a profession; idealistic enough to not make it a retail business. This, in itself, isn't so extraordinary. That we are rapidly becoming a rarity absolutely is. We believe in the realization of each student's potential. Sounds nice, huh? Some love us for it; others, not so much. You see, we not only believe in it, we're pretty much insistent about it. We train our instructors. To teach. Karate. Continuously. One other thing: We DO turn people away. We choose our students every bit as much as they choose us. Not everyone who calls really understands what they're looking for. With us, they either "find a home" or, at least, find that answer.

We love this dojo. We brought our son to the East Morris Karate Academy when he was not quite 5. We wanted him to learn self control, respect, personal responsibility and build his self esteem. We have seen him blossom under the guidance of Mr. Musco and his caring, firm and supportive instructors. They are all about encouraging personal achievement and positive reinforcement. Our son knows that every belt rank he has achieved was hard-earned. This is a serious karate dojo, designed to develop character and foster the life skills needed to be successful in life. Whether you have a shy child needing to come out of his or her shell, or one who is more on the "wild side," the East Morris Karate Academy is the place to go. Don't hesitate to sign up...and they have adult classes, too!

It all started with 3 words. I was first inspired to visit the East Morris Karate Academy years ago when I came across an old yellow-page ad describing the school that said: “Tradition / Society / Profession”. This short description was (and still is) unusual in a market that hypes MMA, cage fighting, barb-wire tattoos, “kiddie karate” and/or women’s self defense for weight loss programs. So I was curious… could this be the real deal? What I learned rather quickly was 1) That not all karate schools are the same; 2) that the East Morris Karate Academy taught karate in the traditional sense of the word… and; 3) that my life was about to change in a myriad of ways for the better. I got stronger, focused, more confident, and began finding successes both in, and out, of the dojo. Now, years later, I’ve seen this happen countless times in many of our adult and junior students. This stuff does work! Whether you are an adult looking to study martial arts, or a parent looking for a quality program for your child - you can’t go wrong with Mr. Musco & East Morris Karate Academy. They are everything that karate is supposed to be about.

At the time Mr. Musco chose me as a student of this dojo, I was already a high ranking student from another traditional dojo which closed its doors. I was training on my own for a while, but the atmosphere of a traditional dojo was missing. During my solo training, I received in the mail a pamphlet from this dojo and I went to try it out. I took two introductory classes and Mr. Musco decided to accept me as a student on the second class. It was very honorable for Mr. Musco to recognize my previous achievements and rank from a different dojo and allowed me to wear the black belt. However, I started training like everybody else who first steps into this dojo, as a white belt. I received no special treatment and I was treated like everybody else. Now that I'm an official black belt of this dojo, I train harder than ever before. Thank you, Mr. Musco for accepting me as a student of this dojo and to the instructors for training me to my fullest potential.

This is going to sound a little cheesy but ever since I saw "The Karate Kid" when I was a kid, I always wanted to study karate at a school that embodied the same principles as Mr. Miyagi. I was looking for a school that taught me more than just how to punch and kick. I was looking for a school that pushed me to be better. Not only at karate but as a person. After checking out several schools, I found it at the East Morris Karate Academy. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable about the art and are dedicated to helping every student reach their full potential. I've been studying here for almost 10 years and I continue to grow and learn more about the art and myself every day. I'm looking forward to the next 10 years!
