Introduction: With more than 40 years of experience as a newspaper man, mostly as a copy editor at The Star-Ledger, I now get my greatest reward helping an aspiring author fine-tune his or her manuscript. Titles I've helped edit are "The Wicked Wit of the West" by Irving Brecher as told to Hank Rosenfeld, and two novels by Alan Winter, "Savior's Day" and the soon-to-be-released "Island Bluffs." I work part-time on the copy desk of Greater Media Newspapers, a chain of weeklies in Central Jersey and recently finished a stint as a volunteer tax preparer for AARP, which means it's a perfect time for me to embark on a new project.
