- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically prefer to do a walk through of the space to ensure I give an appropriate rate. Thanks to smartphones, consults can be done via (Apple) FaceTime (Android) WhatsApp for customer convenience.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
After completing my graduate studies program, I knew I wanted to go into business for myself. Because I am (slightly "nutty") :-) when it comes to cleaning, I explored the idea of starting a cleaning service. A few years later the company I was with downsized and I thought it was the perfect opportunity to get started. I began doing the cleaning myself and within six months there was not enough man power to cover the work. I then became an LLC and started hiring cleaners (before you knew it White Glove Professional Cleaning Services was a business!!). I have since removed myself from cleaning (but will roll up my sleeves when needed), but I am confident in my team and the work they do!!!
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise customers to ask for a consultation prior to hiring (especially if this will be a recurring clean). This gives them the opportunity to meet the person(s) who will have regular access to roam about their home. Like any relationship, it's important to make sure this is a match!
